Mush Love for Appalachia - Hurricane Helene Relief Mushroom Jerky Sale
Hi friends,
Like so many of you, we have been heartbroken over the devastation in western North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Our farm is situated about 2.5 hours east of the mountains, so while we incurred some rain and high winds, we are doing fine. One of our employees is a Warren Wilson College student who was able to get safely home on Sunday.
We have set a goal to raise $500 for the Go Fund Me Hurricane Relief Fund. We're making 17 cases of our award winning mushroom jerky available for purchase, shipped anywhere in the US with 50% of proceeds going to this fund. Details below, and thank you so much for supporting our farm and the North Carolina community.
Mush Love,
Laura Stewart, CEO Haw River Mushrooms

Haw River Mushrooms Oyster Mushroom Jerky was created in 2016 when we welcomed twin daughters to the family and realized we needed a shelf stable option for sampling at the farmers market. Foragers have long turned to jerky after returning from a long day in the woods and realizing they have about 24 hours to eat or preserve their harvest. They oyster mushroom has a dry weight protein content comparable to chicken. We found it to be a filling, delicious addition to our daily diet. Customers agreed and we were soon packaging it in a local kitchen. Today, our mushroom jerky has received national flavor awards and garnered fans across the US.
